but the facts are...its was an accident...shawcross was innocent and Wenger has been, AGAIN, creating conspiracies that the "entire league!!" has got an aggenda against Arsenal and want to hurt their players in particular....we all know that is absolutely not true.

So as much as that article sounded ridiculous, thats how ridiculous Wenger sounds to everyone but Arsenal fans.

A nasty little piece - but I'm not surprised given it's The Mirror.
Writing in the The Times, Matt Dickinson gives a more balanced view as to why Wenger's comments should be the subject of further inquiry 'Because when players end up in agony with their legs held together only by their socks, the issues are too important to ignore or bat away..'
He asserts it's an insult to Wenger's intelligence - and everyone's - to pretend Arsenal do not come in for harder treatment than other teams - ie 'They are roughed up'.
I certainly agree with his point that because Shawcross 'didn't mean to cause such grievous injury doesn't make the inquiry less valid.'
Drunks will always plead they never 'meant' to kill while driving under the influence and it's obvious teams with less skill are more likely to cause accidents if (as Dickinson puts it) ' they are furiously revved up to get in the other's faces and disrupt them by overtly physical means'.

FQ; As I write, Ireland seem to luring Brazil into a false sense of secuity by conceding a gooaaaaaal. Presumably they're going to spring their surprise thrashing when the Brazilians get tired of having so much possession.

thats about as bad as Stan "wife beater and part time dogger" Collymore's article, written in the same paper. Thats why i stopped reading the Mirror a few years back - full of shite and you dont need many credentials to get to work for them it seems.
Arsene commented only on the tackle, he never actually said anything about Shawcross as a person or footballer - which he wouldve been more than entitled to seens as everyone says what they like about Arsene.
