Question #1:

Any comments on - Australian sport, betting has become the heart and sould - Sydney Moning Herald.?

Eight years after disgraced South African captain Hansie Cronje plummeted to his tragic death, cricket's corruption is about as well concealed as Merv Hughes's moustache.

According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, in Australian sport, betting has become the heart and soul.

It is almost impossible to watch or listen to sport on a commercial network without being bombarded with betting information.

Rather than trusting their own judgment about games, media pundits - this one included - lean heavily on the accessible and often sponsored odds-makers' assessments. Increasingly, punting is the lingua franca of Australian sport.

It could be argued that sport is entitled to grab its piece of the gambling pie.

Sports betting in Australia has exploded.

In May, analysts IBISWorld told the Herald Australians would gamble 2.9 billion dollars on sport in 2009-10 compared with 1.6 billion dollars in 2004-05, with an annual growth of 12 per cent for gambling on sport far more than for the pokies (1.2 per cent) and horse racing (0.5 per cent).

Figures such as these are typically used to demonstrate the potential growth of problem gambling. Equally, they show why a potential cheat might think he can prosper.

Australian sports bodies reason that it is better to keep the money changers - and, as a pleasant consequence, their money - inside the temple; that by signing deals with corporate bookmakers who in turn grant access to gambling records, they are better placed to monitor players and officials
Correction: Australian sport, betting has become the heart and soul. Typographical error regretted.

Question #2:

I have been disowned by my parents more than 2 years ago?

I was subject to 26 years of torture and abuse. They used the cigarette lighter, flyswatter, tied the rope around the leg, timber wood, thongs, broom etc to discipline me physically. They never protected me and always would go to the great extent of destroying my educational opportunities so that I could never be better than them. They never even completed 1st grade of primary school and would gamble their money away at the local sports club and send money abroad, leaving me to starve. I am 28 years old now, have completed some university studies in Health Science and live a life without any friends or relatives. Since being evicted by them in 2008, they now don't know where I live, my contact details etc. Is there any legal requirement to be 'recognised' as being DISOWNED by my parents. What does the law say about child disownership or family break-up?

Question #3:

I got problems... If you feel up to it go ahead and be weirded out?

Im going insane... Im going to feel absolutely crazy asking questions on here but I feel like I just want an answer to read even if its not correct...

Im a normal person, let me see if I can explain this right, I have the ability to be great at almost everything in my life, but I never sieze the oppurtunity, Im better than everyone I know at sports, besides the ones in college or pro level, even some college level though, thats beside the point just trying to show a picture of who I really am or who I think I am, When I try in school I rarely get anything wrong in the sense of how the school wants an answer, In the outside world I see things so much differently, I feel like my mind is so fucking complex when I think about death I freak out not because of the thought of death, but because of all the opinions the theories the theres not a clear right or wrong. I think of everything having to have more than one component to make up the answer, but deep down I wont there to just be ONE component ONE reason, but there never is, there is alwayssss another side to something.

This just makes me go crazy, my mom died when I was 6 all my grandparents were gone by the time I was a freshman in high school, have a great relationship with my dad and older brother. but I do have somewhat of a gambling problem which kinda of might be causing this depression, everytime I lose in poker I feel like I did something wrong in life which leads me on a never ending spiral, this is where I might weird some people out thinking Im crazy but fuck it... I say weird shit to myself in the mirror that feels real... to explain I feel like Im lost outside of reality with my mind wander about everything basically all of the day except for when I talk in a rational voice... Welcome Back or Welcome back to reality, when I do this I really feel a change in how I see things and percieve things as I did a few years ago again without all this complicity. Wow I feel like a freak seeing that a wrote that but whatever glad you will never know who I am if you see me in person ha whatever back to writing, Im writing this because I feel completely overwhelmed by life idk this just is helping me vent and sorry for all the terrible structure of the writing, but im writing with emotion here...

I dont know what Im going to get out of saying that but hell comment if you want I feel better having just wrote it.

Question #4:

Would playing with PLAY chips on Pokerstars be considered "gambling"?

I started playing poker since I was about 5 or 6 years old. I love the game, but over the past six to seven years , I've slowly Acquired a gambling addiction. I lost all my money, a few times , and began to have friends worry about me. The past year I've finally admitted to myself that I was addicted and been working to quit poker ( the only form of gambling I do besides betting with friends ). I've quit fantasy football, side bets , sports bets completely, but can not give up poker. I tried giving it up cold turkey and DID NOT work. Over the past two months I've gone from playing stakes as high as $ 20,000 .. down to $ 1 stakes of buyins . ... I made it a week without a single hand of poker, but could not continue . I started up again on poker stars, but this time playing with PLAY money. ... Like I said before, I grew up with the game and just have a passion for it , .... I dont think I'll ever be able to give it up completely. ..... Is playing for play money though, still considered gambling ? ... since I'm not risking any of my own money. .... Just playing it for entertainment and a hobby .

I'm asking for opinions about this ... anyone who has ever gone through this painful addiction , what did you do to quit ? ... Or couldnt 'you quit ? ... I have NOT gone to seek "professional "help yet ( gamblers annonymous ) , but would like to do this on my own.

Please, if you have any advice or experiences with this painful addiction , PLEASE let me know. ... I feel I've done a good job recovering , but can not put that final " nail in the coffin "if you know what I mean.

Thanks!

Question #8:

What's the big deal with gambling in tennis?

I honestly don't know what the big deal is. It's just gambling information from a tennis player. It's not like these players are throwing away the matches to win money. Gambling is common in tennis and it only takes a knowledgable person to make the same chart as he did.

And I also think it's even less of a big deal because these are "no names" who get caught up in the gambling. The only real major player that dealt with it was Nikolay Davydenko, but he was found innocent. I don't think it's hurting the sport at all
@David -- EAT! lol
@David -- Seriously dont play tennis. You're gonna get some serious health problems. Dont eat!
Seriously David that isn't healthy!

And the players in the top 30 have way too much integrity to throw away matches
EDIT -- Does anyone wanna take bets when David passes out? Im guessing the 33rd hour
@David - Sure lol
Well my church does a 30hr fast so I know that's durable. But i dont think he can make it to 40 lol
I also made some pretty killer chocolate chip cookies yesterday lol
@Vamos -- I dont like chips lol

If this is true, shame on the sister. Jueteng and other illegal games has been part of our lives especially in the province area, it's an epidemic with no cure. It'll be gone for a while but always find it's way back,im really doubtful if there's any long term remedy or resolution, hopefully there is, but we have so so many problems that needs more priority. But exposing this people is a good start, baka makuha dito at mapahiya unless makapal ang mukha :)

Question #12:

Are these shirts appropaite for skool?

here is my skools dress code:
In an effort to provide a safe and orderly environment for our students and, in response to a desire to keep our school free from threats or harmful influence of any gangs or groups which advocate substance use, violence or disruptive behavior, Ladera Vista has adopted the Basic Dress Code and Prohibited Items list as a guide to parents and students. This list is not meant to infringe on any individual student’s rights to freedom of expression, but rather to encourage students to “dress for success” and come to school properly prepared to participate in the educational process.

Basic Dress Code

The Basic Dress Code applies to all school activities on or off campus, before, during, and after school. It is the policy of Ladera Vista Junior High to encourage types of conduct, habits of dress and attitudes which promote the general acceptance of pupils by their associates and facilitate the learning process. School personnel will encourage students to wear clothing in a manner that does not offend the rules of decency or attract undue attention at school, and which promotes habits of good grooming. Remember, students are here to learn. In the final analysis, the principal’s evaluation shall prevail.

1. Clothing or possessions (backpacks) that advertise or promote the illegal or commercial use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco/nicotine products, violence, gambling, including graffiti, symbols or double meanings or that include sexual innuendoes are prohibited.

Now my boyfriend wants to tell our 3 good friends who we also know for 10 years, and I don't want to... I don't know why I don't, so we been fighting over this for awhile now.

Question #19:

Could a prime James Toney beat phenoms as Fedor , Lesnar or even hot prospect Jon Jones in a street fight?

Why this fat, steroid user (he got caught FOR A FACT,twice right?) with no honors in Olympic or World amateur boxing (in the real sport of boxing, with serious Drugs tests, international competitions,no negotiations,no gambling of mafia etc) disrespects MMA athletes so badly?
I have not seen yet one MMA fighter to disrespect boxers at all, what is up with most boxing fans and boxers?Complex of inferiority?

I believe Jon Jones vs Toney should have been the fight instead of Couture vs Toney , Jon "bones" Jones would literally break the face of Toney with his awesome unique style and make his face by ground and pound (Jone's elbows ouchhhhhhhhh)

PS
Not that it matters, but even though the sport of MMA is disliked by many fans in this forum, something deep inside tells me that Jon "bones" Jones is adored here ;) lol
Anyways, one way or another his style is awesome period!

Roscoe these i will mention now are extremely high paid sports which all include some of the highest paid athletes of the world, according to Forbes (i talk for real sports and men,if you come back with Serena then i think you are being desperate )

1)Soccer , where is the American talent in the most popular and high paid sport in the world in total?
2)Golf,ok many Americans with European roots there , excluding a multi cultural man!
3)Tennis????????
4)Formula 1?It's a HIGH PAID
sport don't care if it requires raw athleticism or not!
5)Moto GP, look at 5
6)Extreme sports as skateboarding , surfing , snowboarding and BMX........there is plenty Euro-American talent there and some 80,90 million earning athletes
7)Rugby -Cricket , way more high paid than track sprints or running for example who are so low paid and amateur but surprisingly they are dominated by athletes who are supposed to go only in high paid sports:)lol

If the could they would dominate swimming and cycling too ;)
So what i am trying to say is that your excuses of top (black) athletes (this what you mean be honest for once) go to NBA and NFL is very cheap:)

MLB , NHL ,MLS , MMA , Golf , Tennis , Nascar , skateboard , surfing , BMX , cycling (tour de france style),damn even staged WWE, are way higher paid sports than track running events and i think you know it:)None of these leagues is dominated by the "superior" athletes that people like you claim :)(you know what i mean)

Now track running events are Olympic events, low paid and amateur according to your logic as cycling , swimming , skiing , fencing , discus , rowing , decathlon , javelin , wrestling , do i need to keep going?

So the "superior" athletes dominate track running events but nothing from the rest "amateur" sports?why my friend?Cheap excuse isn't it?:)

And if money was the issue then in 400 richest Americans or 100 richest celebrities , 99% of them would not be , you know pale people:)

People dominate ANYTHING THEY CAN:)
Truth is professional or Olympic or any kind of sporting events are dominated worldwide from a specific group of people, dunno if that's genes or whatever, but facts are facts!

Even in basketball that USA NBA stars make so much money were not smashed by Greece,Argentina,Spain and Serbia in world championships of 1998,2002 and 2006 or Olympics of 2004?They won after they did bleed in finals of 2000 and 2008 in very closed games in the finals right?

So what money got to do with talent?

Americans are the richest people in the world in anything they do,we all know that!

I could be 1 million times better lawyer than an American but he still makes more money than me,same goes for American doctors , actors ,CEO's ,Athletes etc, what talent has to do with salaries man?:)

Come on man , you knew that Andy Roddick is higher paid than Rafa Nadal and Landon Donovan higher paid than Alonso?Ok and ?????

Daniel Jacobs was higher paid than Pirog too ;)
